What is the worse that can happen? Well, wish me luck.
Grass should be greener on the other side. This is actually pretty cool to leverage for yourself. I do this quite..
Well hello there Mary,
If you are following me closely on LinkedIn,
You'll notice my content has changed.
This stems from a mix of seeing where most are stuck
And my hectic day job demands.
Recently, a follower reached out with a message:
I cried in the restroom Saturday night at work.
I'm trying to be strong but I can't take it.
This isn't the first time I received messages like this.
Gawd, it makes my blood boil.
It is absolutely not OK.
Do not be strong.
Do not question your abilities.
Do not question your worth.
Stop getting abused at work.
Speak up.
Yes, it is easier said than done.
But let's consider the worst-case scenario
Let's say you speak up and nothing changes.
You are still abused.
How about the best case?
Either something changes for the best
Or you get fired.
Yes, you read that right - you getting fired is one of the best case.
Sometimes, it is easier to get forced out of a bad situation
Especially when you don't have the guts to do it yourself.
Please do not become another stat when it comes to workplace abuse.
This concept of "What is the worst that can happen?" applies to all areas of life:
Should I ask for a raise or promotion?
Should I ask that person out?
Should I try to jump on this other project?
Should I move to another city?
Often, the worst-case isn't as horrible as it seems.
It only sounds horrifying when it is trapped in your head.
Trust me. Give it a shot.
What is your "worst case" scenario? Think about it.
Maybe it's time to confront it.

Be Brave,
Mary F
