Tired of waiting for your boss to fix things? Then I know what you need to do.
You may not like this answer but it is the only way.
It is time for some tough love.
Stop blaming your boss for your career problems.
We have all been there. Frustrated with a manager who doesn’t recognize our efforts, feeling overlooked, underappreciated, or just plain stuck.
It is easy to point the finger and say “If only my boss did this or that, I’d be in a better position.”

Welp, let me break it to you:
Your career is your responsibility. It is up to you to own you damn career.
Blaming your boss may feel justified - heck some of the reasons are likely true. But don’t give them that power.
When you blame your boss, you are essentially saying your career is out of your hands. You are waiting for them to fix things, which means you are not taking action to help yourself.
Plus it puts you in a victim mindset, where you believe you are powerless to change your situation. It keeps you focused on what is wrong instead of what you can do to make it right.
It will eventually damage your professional reputation.
Nobody likes a constant complainer about their boss. People will see you as someone who makes excuses instead of taking responsibility.
Honestly, it is just a waste of time and energy.
Focus on what you can do instead.
Blaming your boss is a cheap move. It is easy. It gets you nowhere though.
You need to take full accountability in your career.
Own your choices, set your goals, and take action to move forward.
Your career is in your hands. The sooner you take control of it, the sooner you can reap all the benefits.
Move it along,
Mary
