What does our experiences say about us? Let's dig deep to find what's next.
This is scary to do in real time. But if it helps you, let's keep going.
If you feel lost in life,
Congrats!
It means you woke up from running on autopilot.
But let's be real.
It is scary as f**k.
The feeling of being directionless can be overwhelming,
Especially when the only thing you're sure of is that you can't keep going like this.
I've been there, more times than I can count.
Why do you think I switched groups or firms so often?
Last week, I decided to jot down all my experiences and lessons I've learned along the way.

Here's what I discovered about myself:
Consistent Attraction to Tax: No matter my role, I graviate towards tax. It's where my mind naturally seeks to create value.
Passion for Leadership Dynamics: I love consuming content about leadership, team dynamics, culture, community. And now adding on about personal brands and building businesses.
Temporary Commitments: I can convince myself I enjoy doing something and excel at them. But those tend to be short-lived. And soon I go back to the drawing board.
Driven by Helping Others: The most energizing moments for me come from interacting with others - whether it's building something for them or simply talking things through.
Low Tolerance for Nonsense: I get bored easily. And I cannot stand politics or corporate BS.
Thriving on Multiple Projects: The more I have to do, the more fun it is. Of course, I need a team to help. While I don't hesistate to get my hands dirty, let's not forget...I'm only one person.
Okay, we are making great progress in understanding ourselves.
Now, it's your turn.
Reflect on your experiences.
Look for common themes or recurring interests.
Please write it down.
Doing it in your head will not work.
Next week, we'll take these reflections a step further.
We will extract a few keywords from our discoveries
And explore how they align with potential career paths.
Let's build the career we want,
Mary F
