Forget the outdated advice and start using these tactics to supercharge your career
Are you tired of watching someone not qualified getting another promotion…while you are…you know…still existing?
Let me help.
Welcome to Career Hacking 101 😂 - where we bend the rules, play the system, and supercharge your career.
First, forget what your college career center told you.
It’s not about who has the best resume or who nailed down their strengths and weaknesses question.
Load up your career aresenal
Use LinkedIn: This is better than a resume
I know you are lazy so I won’t tell you to post every day. But you should pick 5 people you want to connect with and comment on their posts. Be the name they start to recognize.
Coffee Chats: Best type of interview you want
Don’t ask for a job - ask for 15 minutes of their time to learn about their career path. At the end, ask who else they recommend you speak with. Now, you just hacked your way into an ever-expanding network.
Become the Go-To Person: Even if it’s not your job…or above your pay grade
People are lazy. So if you see a problem, go fix it. See an opportunity? Seize it.
Don’t wait for permission. Document all this down and add it to your repo for raise, promo, and resume.
Be Strategically Visible
You need to be seen as indispensable. Volunteer for high-visibility projects. Document all your wins and craft compelling stories for interviews, negotiations, and networking.
Get a Board of Directors
Identify 3 to 5 mentors who can guide different aspects of your career. Don’t just take though - give back. Offer your skills, make introductions, be a resource for them. The more you give, the more doors open.
