Why can't you be consistent? I know why.

It's not because you are lazy or have no time. There are only three reasons. I tried them out for you.

My sleep schedule is awful.

Did you know nearly two-thirds of successful CEOs wake up at 6am or earlier, with many rising around 4am?

It seems like the formula is: wake up early = success.

And who doesn't want to be successful?

So, I embarked on a mission: adjust my sleep schedule to join the early risers club.

My usual bedtime was around 11:30pm, waking up at 8am.

*Don't do the math because it takes me forever to fall asleep.

I aim for 7 - 8 hours of sleep to avoid zombie mode the next day.

Gradually, I nudged my schedule earlier by 15 minutes each night. After a week, I was waking up an hour earlier. Success!

Sike...work got hectic. Suddenly, I was sleeping at 1am and dragging myself out of bed at 8am again.

So, what happened? A few things:

  • Understanding Myself: Turns out, I'm naturally more energized at night, especially after my evening workouts.

  • Purpose-Driven Habits: My goal lacked instrinsic motivation. I was chasing the idea of scucess, not a personal need or desire.

  • Accountability and Rewards: Without a solid reason or reward system, it's too easy to fall back into old habits.

As we gear up for the New Year and those inevitable resolutions, it's essential to ask "Why am I doing this?"

Don't just pick a habit and run with it.

Time is precious. Please truly ask yourself: Are these habits really for me or am I just following someone else's blueprint for success?

Building habits isn't about mindless disclipine. It's about aligning them with who you are and what you want to achieve.

Let's make your future self proud.

Habits are not about what you want to achieve - it is about who you want to become.

Hey man, you know what you're lacking when it comes to consistency.

Stop picking up new habits - putting them down - picking them back up and repeat.

Just see something through already...

You don't have to do it alone.
